With The Corona Virus Pandemic, How To Be Safe When Your Home Needs Repair

The pandemic turned people`s attention to repair and maintenance work, in the first half of 2020. Many people stopped going to the office during the emergency period, so building owners took advantage of this time and used it for home repairs.

Construction companies had the busiest first half of the year in terms of building repair works, according to statistical data for the first six months of 2020. Construction maintenance and repair work advanced by about 50% in the first half of 2020, compared to the same period last year. This is the largest increase, at least in the last four years.

To be safe when your home needs repairs, make sure to ask different contractors you interact with about ways to limit social contact with workers, inspectors, etc. Most of them reorganized their activity and invested in new equipment that helps them continue their work, even with all the social restrictions. Discussions can be carried out online, some inspections can be performed with drones, and people should wear masks when they must interact with each other and come close. According to current public health guidelines, workers are required to wear protective masks and keep their distance from other people inside a building (home, apartment, or commercial space).
