Are the Siding Trends for 2020 So Much Different From Last Year’s Trends?

This lovely 2 story red brick and cream siding home in Middletown, MD just recieved some much needed TLC after a big hailstorm struck the area. American Custom Contractors installed a new Owens corning duration asphalt shingle roof in Williamsburg Gray along. It complements the blue shutter on the home and adds to its stately appearance.

As the years pass, siding trends change, and what used to be popular just a few years ago may have changed a lot throughout the past 2-3 years alone. Fortunately, the trends themselves don’t change as quickly as a single person’s interests, and they do hold a certain level of inertia that allows you to still use last year’s trends in deciding on what type of siding you want this year.  Companies such as American Custom Contractors keep up with the newest siding products as well as keeping some of the older preferred materials as well.

In the case of siding in particular, the trends have stayed largely the same, with a few minor new developments that might or might not be important in your particular case.

Dark colors are more prevalent in 2020, while lighter colors and even white used to be more popular in 2019. However, this isn’t fully the norm yet, as many people still prefer light colored siding to this day. It’s clear then why all the variety in the shades of gray used by certain siding manufacturers are so popular nowadays.

The use of high quality materials has also received a surge during the beginning of this year, as a greater number of people are considering upgrading their siding from something like vinyl, to metal or fiber cement. So make sure you talk to your contractor about your options, and see what works best for your home.
