A Bit About Us - Our Story
American Custom Contractors was founded in 1972 by Alex and Angie Giakoumatos, who resided in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County, with their small family. Over the years, their business grew from a small carpentry operation into a full-scale remodeling company. Their family also grew to include four children, who have all become active members of the local community.
Sons William and Demetri Giakoumatos joined the family business in 1997 and helped American Custom Contractors continue to grow. Under their leadership, the company expanded its service area and services – and the Commercial Services division was born. American Custom Contractors moved to its current location at 15728 Crabbs Branch Way in Rockville in 2005, so the staff could be more centrally located and better service ongoing projects and estimate requests.

When Alex and Angie founded American Custom Contractors, they were dedicated to building their business on honesty, quality craftsmanship, and the integrity required to do the job right the first time. Today, as a forerunner in the residential, commercial, and insurance restoration industries in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC, we continue that tradition.
Times change but our mission has not. We believe that our success is determined by the satisfaction of our clients and the referrals we receive as a result. As we continue to grow the successful business that Alex and Angie started more than five decades ago, we remain determined to exceed the expectations of every client we work with.
