The most basic style of asphalt roof is generally referred to as “3-tab” by industry professionals. This style offers the shortest warranty period and costs the least of sloped roof products. Most homeowners in the Washington DC Metro region choose a product with a minimum 30-year warranty. “Architectural” or composition shingles are thicker, heavier, and carry a longer material warranty than traditional “3-tab” shingles. With a thicker profile and shadow lines, these products can add a new element to the aesthetic of your home. The most premium of options even mimic the look of natural slate. How would I benefit from a roof inspection?
Our roof inspections and estimates are free! We do request that a homeowner be present for the inspection, because it will require an examination of the exterior roof surface and the attic space (Read more about why we need to check the attic space). Industry experts recommend that homes with roofs 15 years or older have their roofs inspected at least once a year, preferable twice, to identify and prevent any potential risks.
