Your Free Estimate, Step by Step: Before, During, and After
You reached out for an estimate — here’s exactly what happens next, how long it takes, and the one thing you won’t have to deal with: pressure.
First, thank you — and here’s what happens now
You’ve got a project on your mind — maybe an aging roof, tired siding, or drafty windows — and you’ve taken the step of asking for an estimate. That’s the hardest part for a lot of homeowners, because of one quiet worry: is someone going to show up and pressure me into signing something?
So let’s clear that up right away. That’s not how we work. This page walks you through exactly what your estimate appointment looks like from start to finish, so when our inspector arrives, there are no surprises — just useful information you can use to make a good decision on your own timeline.
Before the appointment
- We’ll confirm a time that works for you. Our scheduler will lock in a window and let you know roughly when to expect us. [Add typical scheduling window by service area.]
- Plan for about 60-90 minutes. A thorough inspection takes time — that’s a good thing. We’d rather be careful now than miss something that becomes a surprise later.
- If possible, have everyone who may be impacted by the project there. Simply because everyone usually has different questions, and it saves you a second conversation later.
How to prepare (it’s easy)
You don’t need to do much, but these help:
- Make a quick list of your concerns and questions — leaks, drafts, problem areas, anything you’ve noticed.
- Clear easy access to the exterior, attic, or any problem spots if you can.
- Gather any relevant paperwork — past repair records, manufacturer info, or insurance documents if a storm or claim is involved.
- Think about your goals: Is this an urgent fix or a longer-term plan? Any timeline or budget in mind? Knowing this helps us tailor the conversation to you.
What happens during the visit
- We listen first
Before climbing on anything, your inspector will talk with you about what prompted the call, what you’ve noticed, and what you’re hoping to accomplish. The right recommendation starts with understanding your goals.
- A thorough, documented inspection
This is the heart of the visit. We carefully assess the relevant parts of your home — roof, siding, windows, and gutters as they apply to your project — taking measurements and photos of everything, including any preexisting damage or trouble spots.
- We show you what we found — honestly
When the inspection’s done, we’ll walk you through what we saw using the actual photos, in plain language. And we’ll give you a straight assessment, which sometimes means telling you what you don’t need: maybe your roof has several good years left, or a targeted repair makes more sense than a full replacement. We’d rather earn your trust with an honest answer than sell you something you don’t need yet.
- We go over your options and answer questions
If work is warranted, we’ll talk through your material options, what each involves, and how they fit your goals and budget. This is the time to ask anything — about products, warranties, timelines, or how the project would actually unfold at your home.
- You get a clear, itemized estimate
Your free estimate will be itemized and in writing — not a vague one-line number — so you can see exactly what’s included and compare it fairly against anyone else’s. Every free estimate includes flexible payment options.
What you won’t experience
Just as important as what happens is what doesn’t:
- No high-pressure tactics. We won’t corner you, follow you around, or refuse to leave until you sign.
- No inflated “today only” price drops. You’ve probably heard of companies that quote a sky-high number and then “slash” it if you sign tonight — which usually just means the first number was never real. We don’t play that game. Our price is fair and honest from the start.
- No obligation. The estimate is free, and “I need to think about it” is a perfectly good answer.
You should leave the appointment with more clarity and zero pressure. That’s the whole point.
A note on our “decide today” discount
We’ll be straight with you: we do offer a small discount if you choose to move forward at the time of your free estimate. Here’s the honest reason — when you commit at the visit, it saves our team time and resources – and we can pass along those savings to you!
What it isn’t: a dramatic, manufactured “sign now or lose thousands” deal. The discount is modest, the price underneath it is fair either way, and there’s no pressure to take it. If you’d rather take your time, that’s completely fine — we’d genuinely rather you feel confident in your decision than rush it for a small savings.
What you’ll walk away with
- A clear, itemized, written free estimate you can actually compare.
- A real understanding of your home’s condition, backed by photos.
- Answers to your questions — and an honest recommendation, even if that’s “wait.”
- The time and space to decide on your own terms.
After your estimate
Take the time you need. Review the numbers, talk it over, and reach back out with any questions that come up — we’re happy to revisit anything. And if you’re gathering other quotes, that’s smart; bring them to us, and we’ll even help you read them line by line, so you can choose with confidence.
