In November 2008 American Custom Contractors was contacted by representatives of the Embassy of Taiwan in Washington DC. They were interested in obtaining an estimate for replacement of the roof system and some areas of siding on the building. Demetri Giakoumatos, Vice President, met with the Embassy’s representatives to complete a needs assessment and discuss possible options.
The Embassy had already received a few estimates for completion of the work, and were interested in an estimate that met the same specifications. What Demetri found, however, was that the specifications in the proposal created were not the same as the standard specifications that American Custom Contractors uses. After reviewing the details of the other proposals with the representatives, it was agreed that the specifications that American Custom Contractors follows would provide a better roof system, because they adhere to the manufacturer specifications. The Embassy of Taiwan chose a Certainteed Presidential architectural roof system (lifetime warranty) and James Hardie Hardiplank siding for their project.
