2008 Food Drive
This December our staff organized our 2nd Annual Food Drive. Led by Nicole Martin, company staff asked our customers and their neighbors to donate canned goods and non-perishables by leaving these items on their doorstep. Unfortunately some poor weather delayed our efforts, but we were able to collect and donate 328 pounds to the Capital Area Foodbank. As part of our donation American Custom Contractors is also making a $1 per 1 pound match to Capital Area Foodbank.
Capital Area Foodbank is the largest non-profit hunger & nutrition resource in our region. They distribute about 20 million pounds of food per year, and have started several food and nutrition resources, including Food for Kids, Produce for People and the Brown Bag Program. Non-perishable food, canned good and personaly hygiene products are accepted at their Northern Virginia or Washington DC locations.
